A luxurious resort or bed and breakfast lodging may both give you gorgeous mountain views, but the amenities will obviously be different. The time of year for your vacation will give you a different experience as well. Mountain climates are not the same in the summer as in the winter. Depending how far north one choses to vacation, those gorgeous mountain views may just be of a snowy wonderland. This is an area that is more a sightseeing adventure than what you would find on a tropical beach.
Once you have decided where you want to go, it is time to outline what activities will fill your time. When vacationing, the main attraction of course is relaxing. But do keep in mind that the more you or the family want to do, the more a plan will come in handy. Vacation time is limited, after all.
Waking up each morning to the sight of gorgeous mountain views could really take a vacation to the next level. While a nice room with a mediocre view of a parking lot is still a vacation, even a nice one, it is not perhaps what you envision when daydreaming at work.
