You planned where you will visit and any day trips that you will take, as well as any dining and restaurants that you think you will enjoy. Your husband researched the airfare. As a final destination, the family decided on a great location on North Carolina’s Outer Banks, a skinny strip of barrier islands that stretch for 130 miles along the Atlantic coast. With these beaches as a setting, the girls are planning to get up and run every morning along the ocean after they wake early to watch the sunrise. They figure that they can catch up on any rest later in the day while their Dad is golfing and before you take them shopping.
For yourself, you have planned a couple outings and know that you will enjoy them whether or not the rest of the family comes along. The one you are looking the most forward to is a trip to the Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge on Hatteras Island, a place where over 400 species of birds have been identified.
This will certainly be a different kind of holiday, but you are certain that it will be one to both enjoy and remember.
