Many Americans have their own private transport, and the United States is a nation of cars. All the same, some Americans cannot or will not drive cars, so they need other forms of transport. Buses, taxis, vans, and even limousines can be rented and ridden to all sorts of destinations, and this often includes airports. An airport to airport shuttle service, for example, can be a lifesaver for a plane passenger, and an airport to airport shuttle service can be looked up ahead of time for transport needs. Even airport to airport shuttles may be used if needed. Where else aside from a airport to airport shuttle service might someone need to borrow transportation?
Shuttles to the Airport
One may first consider an airport to airport shuttle service. An airport is a place where passengers are taking planes to their destinations, but they cannot bring their cars or pickup trucks with them. And it may also be impractical to drive oneself to the airport, leave their car there for three weeks, then finally come back from their trip and drive it away. Rather, a person can and probably should get someone else to drive them, and if a friend or family member cannot do this, then an airport to airport shuttle service may be used. A plane passenger, after they figure out their necessary arrival and departure times for their flights, can look up these airport to airport shuttle services. This can be done online, and the passenger may book a shuttle’s seat for themselves and provide their address and intended pickup time. When this is all settled, the passenger may board the shuttle when it arrives at their residence, and such shuttles should also have storage room for their luggage. And once the passenger’s plane lands, they can board another shuttle and take it to their residence.
Other Buses
Other contexts also call for a bus or shuttle service, such as sports stadiums or houses of worship. Sports stadiums will have ample parking space, but the sheer volume of guests may make parking difficult to find. To ease traffic congestion, and to help guests who don’t have their own transportation anyway, sports stadiums may offer a shuttle bus. This vehicle will visit a few pre-set locations and pick up all passengers there, and take them to and from the sports stadium. A stadium’s staff will announce the buses’ pickup sites and times ahead of schedule, so that passengers know where to go (and to go there) to board these shuttles. And as mentioned above, a bus carrying many passengers can take cars off the road and reduce traffic congestion to and from the stadium.
Many American houses of worship, such as churches, synagogues, and mosques, may have their own small fleet of shuttle buses to transport attendees. Many attendees at a house of worship are elderly or may not have their own transport, so the house of worship will offer their own private vehicle. This may be a small bus or large van that seats eight to 12 people or so (this will vary), and may have the house of worship’s name and logo on it to make it distinctive. The house of worship may gather the addresses of some attendees and send its bus(es) there to pick up passengers and return them home later. This is analogous to a school bus in many regards. In particular, the elderly may sometimes be unsafe drivers, since they may sometimes have short attention spans and slow reaction times. This is not true of everyone in the senior population, but some seniors may prefer a bus.
Buses and public transport are also very useful for tourists, who will typically not bring their own vehicles with them. Rather, groups of tourists may board a large and comfortable motorcoach, which may have room for luggage, not to mention climate control and even WiFi in some cases. These buses can deliver groups of tourists to a community and allow them to stay the night, spending locally on lodging, food, attractions, and more. Buses, therefore, are an integral part of many tourism-based communities. And besides that, buses can transport may business professionals all over a city, and take cars off the road all the while.
